Muralidharan for Nuwara Eliya District under SLFP ticket

Muthhiah Muralidharan, the Vice Captain of the SL cricket team has been appointed as the UPFA candidate for the Nuwara eliya District at the forthcoming Gen. elections.

The individual who was instrumental in getting Muralidharan to contest is S B Dissanayake who joined the UPFA from the UNP recently.

Muralidharan holds the world records as the highest wicket taker in one day cricket and test cricket

Another cricketer too, Sanath Jayasooriya is contesting the Matara District under the UPFA ticket.
